Let's start!

Hi Everyone! I've been thinking of a blog for a long time now, and I didn't really know what to do, if a blog about movie posters or a blog about tap dance. I might sometimes add some tap dance links, videos, or whatever. After all, it's all entertainment.

I've been collecting and selling movie posters for about 10 years now. And it's really hard sometimes to know what a poster looks like, what it's worth, and where to buy it. I've been working with french dealers when I was living in Paris (by the way, I'm french), I am now living in Tel Aviv (I'm also Israeli), but I keep selling french posters on eBay.
I am always searching for posters to buy, so I see a lot of pictures, and I sometimes keep them. I think it's time to use all those pictures. They mostly come from ebay, emovieposter (Bruce Hershenson's website) or they are pictures I have taken.

I will start today with french posters of movies by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, two japanese anime makers. They're both very popular in Japan, their movies always get immediately on top of the box office. It took many years for them to be discovered by the european and american audience. There are still many of their movies to discover. For example, Miyazaki's Castle of Cagliostro was releases in 1979 in Japan, in 1991 in the USA and is yet to be released in Europe!

The first poster I would like to present is Porco Rosso (Miyazaki), it's a very hard to find now, it was released in France in 1995, 3 years after its release in Japan.
In 1996, Grave of the fireflies (Takahata), beautiful movie and a beautiful poster, hard to find:

My neighbor Totoro (Miyazaki) is of 1999 (Japan 1988). The poster is getting hard but not impossible to find.

In 2000, Miyazaki's masterpiece Princess Mononoke:

From now on, Miyazaki's movie posters will have that frame on the top with "Hayao Miyazaki's masterpiece" or "a film by Hayao Miyazaki". It's the beginning of Ghibli's fame in France (Ghibli are the editing sudios in which they were both working), many more posters are printed, the movies are released in several movie theaters. Therefore, the following posters are quite easy to find.

In 2001, My neighbors the Yamadas (Takahata)

In 2002, Miyazaki's Spirited away :

In 2003, Castle in the sky (Miyazaki), and in 2004 Kiki's delivery service (also Miyazaki):

Also released in 2004, Horus, made by Takahata in 1968!!!

2005, 2 movies by Takahata : Pom Poko and Kie

Miyazaki's Howl's moving castle is released in 2005 and his Nausicaa in 2006
